Chu Kong Air-Sea Union Transportation Company Limited (CKSA)
was set up in April 2000 and jointly owned by Chu Kong Shipping
Development Company Limited (CKSD) and Hong Kong Air Cargo
Industry Services Limited (Hacis). On 1 August 2000,the Airport
Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) of Hong Kong International Airport
(HKIA) awarded CKSA a proprietary Operation and Management
Licence for a Marine Cargo Terminal (MCT) in HKIA so as to
provide air-sea cargo logistics services between Pearl River
Delta (PRD) Region and HKIA and vice versa. MCT has been in
operation since 28th March 2001.
Chu
Kong Shipping Enterprises (Holdings) Company Limited (CKSE),
the parent company of CKSD, has been actively involved in
barge transportation operations between PRD and Hong Kong
for almost 40 years. The service provision of CKSE at present
includes transportation, terminal management, warehousing,
agency services, barge repairing and maintenance. CKSE has
owned the shares of 12 terminals in the main PRD ports that
become a well-equipped transportation network in PRD. This
can provide a strong and powerful coverage to the transportation
business of its subsidiaries. Hacis, the wholly-owned subsidiary
company of Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has
devoted itself to serve the air-freight forwarding industry
for the past 17 years by providing various air cargo related
services. Thus, with the seconded key managerial staff of
CKSA from CKSD and Hacis, the combination of river transportation
and air cargo operation expertise, CKSA can offer high-quality
inter-modal logistics services to its Customers
